Myanmar Consumers Union held Quarterly Meeting at M3 Food Centre, Shwegonetaing, Yangon on May 5, 2017 (Friday). Myanmar Consumers Union members from (8) States/Regions attended the meeting. The President of MCU, Prof. Dr. Mar Mar Kyi gave opening remark and Project Manager, Dr. Mo Mo Tin, launched the Online Consumer Complaint System. It was said that there are Myanmar and English languages available at MCU Website. The consumer complaint can be made via web site or mobile application. Then, an Officer from Department of Consumer Affairs, Daw War War Khaing presented about “Dispute Handling System” with examples.
During the meeting, Myanmar Consumers Union (Mandalay Region) was reformed and Myanmar Consumers Union (Mon State) was formed. Myanmar Consumers Union members also discussed about consumer issues and Secretary of MCU, U Maung Maung highlighted and made conclusion of the consumer issues. Moreover, Legal Advisor from MCU -Mon State, U Thaung Win and Legal Advisor from MCU also discussed and gave advice for the consumer issues.
