Task Force Meeting for Issuing Order for Labeling in Myanmar Language

The Task Force for issuing order for labelling in Myanmar or Myanmar+other language for instruction and harmful facts is formed on 24th July 2018 with representatives from following organizations: Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Commerce; Ministry of Electricity and Energy; Department of Research and Innovation, Ministry of Education; Ministry of Information; Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MoALI); Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department, (MoALI); Small Scale Industries Department (MoALI); Posts and Telecommunications Department, Ministry of Transport and Communication;  Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection, Ministry of Industry; Myanma Pharmaceutical Industries, Ministry of Industry; Department of Trade, Ministry of Commerce;  Department of Food and Drug Administration, Ministry of Health and Sports; Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV), Ministry of Information; Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI); Myanmar Food Processors & Exporters Association (MFPEA); Myanmar Retailers Association; Myanmar Consumers Union; and Myanmar Inspection & Testing Services Ltd (MITS). MCU assigned Dr. Mo Mo Tin, Joint Secretary-1, as a MCU representative to participate in Task Force.

The first meeting of the task force was held at Naypyitaw on 31st July 2018. Members from Yangon Region joined the meeting via video conferencing at Department of Consumer Affairs. Prof. Dr. Aung Myint, Chairperson of MCU-Mandalay, attended the meeting as an External Consumer Protection Expert.
